Data chain (daisy chain)
A sequence of cabinets wired in series from one controller port.
Cabinets connect data in series: the controller port feeds the first cabinet, which loops through to the next, and so on. Each such chain must stay within the port's pixel capacity, and every cabinet must belong to exactly one chain.
Chains are usually routed in a serpentine (snake) pattern to keep cables short — along a row, up, back along the next row. Redundant designs run a second cable from the chain's far end back to a backup port, so a single cable failure costs nothing.
