wikiLED

Built by LED professionals.Made for every brand.

Compare LED panel specifications, configure video walls, and check power, resolution and wiring — in one free, brand-neutral platform.

What wikiLED is

One platform for LED specifications, configuration and planning.

wikiLED brings together an LED panel database, a controller database and a wall calculator that takes you from selecting a cabinet to checking a proposed wiring layout. Save configurations to revisit the technical details of individual walls or larger display networks.

We are building practical LED-specific tools around the work professionals do every day: finding comparable specifications, calculating requirements and planning installations with fewer repetitive steps.

Why we built it

Why LED display planning needs a better workflow.

Every LED project starts with the same questions. Which cabinet fits the application? How many pixels will the wall need? Can the controller handle the resolution? How much power should we allow for?

The answers are often scattered across manufacturer datasheets, spreadsheets and conversations with suppliers. Specifications appear in different formats, important values can be missing, and calculations have to be repeated for each project.

We built wikiLED because we experienced these problems ourselves. It combines a brand-neutral database for comparing products, calculators for repetitive technical work, and a wall configurator that checks key limits as you design. Spend less time searching and recalculating — and more time planning the right LED system.

Where we come from

From recurring project challenges to a shared industry resource.

wikiLED started with a recurring gap between the information needed to plan an LED installation and the information readily available. A simple comparison can involve searching several datasheets for hours; a configuration often cannot be edited without involvement of the manufacturer or supplier.

The ambition is to turn those disconnected steps into a consistent, reusable workflow: searchable product data, transparent calculations and configurations that remain accessible after the initial design. wikiLED is a practical reference for better-informed decisions, not a substitute for qualified engineering review.

How the data is built

LED specifications you can trace, compare and verify.

Our database combines manufacturer documentation, consistently derived calculations and visible source statuses. You can see what is documented, calculated, assumed or still missing before using a figure in a project.

Geometry check before entry

Cabinet resolution, pixel pitch and published dimensions are checked for consistency before a product is added. Any discrepancies require review rather than being silently ignored.

Derived values are calculated, not copied

Pixels per m², watts per m², weight per m² and thermal load are calculated from the verified base fields, so they are consistent across brands.

Each field shows where it came from

Each field indicates whether its value is manufacturer-published, calculated, inherited, assumed, third-party sourced, corrected, disputed or missing. Assumptions are identified rather than presented as confirmed manufacturer specifications.

Gaps stay visible

A cabinet with an incomplete datasheet still appears, with the missing fields labelled. When a filter excludes it for that reason, the interface says so.

Controllers with their real limits

Processors and sending cards are modelled with their real port counts and pixel budgets, so data chains reflect what the hardware can drive.

Sources on every page

Spec pages state where the figures came from and when they last changed. Corrections are reviewed against the source document. Report an error.

Independence and pricing

Independent, and free at the core.

wikiLED is independently owned and is not owned by or affiliated with any LED display manufacturer. All brands are listed on the same terms, and comparisons are computed from published specifications with one set of rules. No manufacturer can change a spec, hide a gap or buy a better number.

The current catalogue, comparisons and calculator are free, with no account needed to calculate. Later we will add paid professional services, for manufacturers and for users, and we will announce them on the pricing page before they arrive. Anything paid will be labelled, and it will never touch the specifications or the comparison rules.

  • Specifications are never edited for a manufacturer

Values come from the datasheet and can only be corrected against a source.

  • One set of comparison rules for all brands

The better value is marked by rule, not by relationship.

  • Paid services are labelled

You will always see what is promoted and what is not.

Frequently asked

Frequently asked questions about wikiLED.

Is wikiLED free?

The current catalogue, comparisons and calculator are free, with no account needed to calculate. Saving a wall to a project takes a free login. Later we will add paid professional services for manufacturers and users, announced on the pricing page first.

Is wikiLED affiliated with any LED manufacturer?

No. wikiLED is independently owned and is not owned by or affiliated with any LED display manufacturer. All brands are listed on the same terms and compared on published specifications with one set of rules. Paid services for manufacturers will be labelled, and they never change a specification or a comparison rule.

Where does the specification data come from?

From manufacturer datasheets and documentation. Each cabinet passes a geometry check before it enters the database, derived values are calculated rather than copied, and each field carries a provenance status so you can see whether a value was published, derived, inherited from a series default or is still missing.

Can I rely on the wiring diagram for a real installation?

Use it as a validated starting point. The calculator checks controller ports, pixels per port, controller capacity, circuit load, current draw, and data and power coverage on every change. Final electrical design, rigging and compliance remain the responsibility of the qualified engineer signing off the project.

How do I report a wrong spec or add a product?

Email hello@wikiled.app with the model name and a link to the datasheet. Corrections are reviewed against the source document and the field's provenance is updated to "corrected" with the date.
