IMD LED
Integrated matrix devices: small clusters of pixels (2×2, 4-in-1) in one package — a midpoint between SMD and COB.
IMD (integrated matrix device) packages group four (or two) complete pixels into a single component. It keeps SMD-style pick-and-place manufacturing and per-package repair while reaching finer pitches with better seam control than discrete SMD.
IMD is common between roughly 0.9 mm and 1.5 mm pitch, competing with COB in the fine-pitch bracket.
