Power chain

A group of cabinets fed from one mains circuit, linked power-out to power-in.

Like data, cabinet power daisy-chains: one feed from a distro or wall circuit enters the first cabinet and loops onward. The chain's combined maximum draw must respect the breaker behind it.

Good practice loads a circuit to at most 80% of its breaker rating continuously — a 230 V / 16 A circuit therefore carries about 2,900 W of cabinets, not 3,680 W. Sizing chains on average instead of maximum power is the classic mistake: one full-white frame will trip the breaker.
