IP rating
Ingress protection code — how sealed a cabinet is against dust and water, e.g. IP65 front.
An IP code's first digit rates solids protection (6 = dust-tight), the second water (5 = jets, 7 = immersion). LED cabinets usually state two ratings: the sealed front face and the ventilated rear, e.g. IP65/IP54.
Outdoor duty realistically starts at IP65 front. Indoor cabinets commonly sit at IP30–IP40, which is why they cannot simply be moved outside under an awning.
